Arm Lift Surgery (Brachioplasty)

Arm lift surgery corrects sagging arms and tightens the skin of the arms. With age, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby. The procedure removes loose skin and excess fat deposits from the upper arm. If the patient has significant fat deposits in the upper arm then liposuction of arms may be used with or without the armlift.

Procedure: An incision is made along the underside of the upper arm and unwanted skin and tissue are carefully removed to reveal the more natural contour of the arms. The incision is made in the most inconspicuous place. Patients should not smoke at all at least 1-2 weeks before and after surgery. Arm lift is done under general anesthesia. Surgery takes 1-2 hours. Patients spend 1 night in clinic.

Recovery: There may be mild pain for a few days after surgery, which can be managed with medications. There may be some swelling for about 2 weeks . Stitches are removed after 12-14 days for arm lift (7 days for liposuction only). Recommended stay in Prague and back to work in 7-14 days (7 days if liposuction only). Activity should be minimised for 3-5 days after surgery and strenuous exercise avoided for 2-3 weeks. Scars are hidden in the most inconspicuous place under the arms.

Final result:               6-8 weeks, scare will lighten in color after about 6 months
